On Your Bike

British Cycling and broadcaster, Sky has launched SkyRide 2010 to promote cycling as an activity for friends and family to explore their local areas. We worked on this campaign with photographer, Stuart McClymont. With print and web images to deliver, this project had many elements for us to consider – each image required an overall retouch to the art direction, which included composite work, final colour treatment and establishing an aesthetic look.

Fishing in Paris

March 9th, 2010

Photographer Joseph Ford came to The Operators to undertake a complicated multi-part composite. Using multiple photographic frames of water splashes. These were then prepared and independently masked to be able to blend and manipulate the form together. Combining all the frames allowed us to create a specific water form and explosion to complement the dynamics within the shot. All elements from the boat, reflections, water explosions and fish were all combined to create the shot you see below.

Lightning

Taking a plain white room, we set about painting the individual surfaces within the shot with digital paint. Retaining the definition and modeling of each subject within the shot. We developed individual paint brushes to create and add stroke marks with the paint as well as paint build up and wetness on the surface. Below are the before and after.
